How do we review songs?
Music reviews are subjective, but we try our best to be as unbiased as possible in all of our reviews. We also try to keep positive and try as much as possible to only post positive reviews. The goal of our page is not to criticize music, but to share and present music in a fun way, and to create a community of followers who love music just as much as we do. We review songs by dividing them into five different categories:
Vocals - Pretty straightforward, the quality of vocals in a song. Songs that do not require a very skilled vocalist to sing may receive a lower score as a result.
Instrumental - The quality of the instrumental as it relates to the vocals as well as the theme of the song.
Emotion - What we mean by emotion is how the song makes you FEEL, how easily we think people can connect with the song. This dictates what we think the overall listenability and likability/appeal this song has. (We do not review certain Rap songs based on this)
Lyrics - Songs that have meaningful and thoughtful lyrics tend to receive higher scores. We try to separate this as much as possible from our "Vocals" rating. Of course, there is no science to judging how good lyrics are. If a lyric is meaningful to you, that's all that matters.
Production - The overall production of the song. The difference between this and our "Instrumental" rating is that it does not relate to the vocals or the theme of the song, rather the quality of the audio, and for lack of better words, just how good the song sounds.
Our ratings are calculated on a 1-10 scale. Compared to other review outlets, our ratings tend to be higher. This is because we are not music critics, rather we are celebrating and sharing our love for music.
10: Means the song is Exceptionally Good, and worthy of being a hit.
7-9: Means the song is Very Good, it is better than the majority of music.
4-6: Means the song is Average, it is better than a lot of other music, but isn't quite there.
1-3: Means the song is Poor, we have never, and probably will never rate anything this low, because there is no point in rating it.
